Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies

Authors are required to disclose the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies when submitting a manuscript to Istifkar: Media Transformasi Pendidikan. This policy specifically addresses the use of such technologies in the preparation and writing of manuscripts and does not govern their use as analytical tools within the research process.

Generative AI and AI-assisted technologies may be used to support the improvement of language, clarity, and readability of a manuscript. Their use must remain under appropriate human supervision and control. Authors are expected to critically review, verify, and revise any AI-generated or AI-assisted content before submission, as such technologies may produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or biased information. Full responsibility for the accuracy, integrity, and content of the manuscript remains with the author(s).

Generative AI systems and AI-assisted technologies cannot be listed as authors or co-authors. Authorship involves intellectual, ethical, and legal responsibilities that must be assumed by human contributors.

Where generative AI or AI-assisted technologies have been used during the writing process, authors must provide a declaration in the manuscript at the time of initial submission. This declaration should be presented as a separate section immediately before the reference list and will be included in the published article.

Authors who have not used generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of their manuscript are not required to include this declaration. Further information regarding the use of generative AI is available in the Istifkar: Media Transformasi Pendidikan policy on generative AI and AI-assisted technologies.

To maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and protect the rights of authors, Istifkar: Media Transformasi Pendidikan does not permit editors or reviewers to use generative AI systems or similar AI-assisted services in the peer-review or manuscript evaluation process. The journal may review and update this policy in the future in accordance with developments in reliable, secure, and ethically compliant AI technologies.
