Article Withdrawal

Article Withdrawal

Article withdrawal applies to manuscripts that have been accepted for publication but have not yet been formally published in an issue of Istifkar: Media Transformasi Pendidikan. Such manuscripts may contain significant errors, may have been accidentally submitted or accepted more than once, or may be found to violate the journal's publication ethics.

An accepted manuscript may be withdrawn when the editors determine that there are serious issues, including multiple submission, duplicate publication, false claims of authorship, plagiarism, fraudulent or fabricated data, or other violations of publication ethics.

Withdrawal means that the article will be removed from the journal's online publication system and replaced with a withdrawal notice. The notice will identify the title and authors of the withdrawn article and state that the article has been withdrawn in accordance with the Istifkar: Media Transformasi Pendidikan Article Withdrawal Policy.

Article Retraction

Article retraction applies to articles that have already been formally published in Istifkar: Media Transformasi Pendidikan but are subsequently found to contain serious problems that affect their scholarly integrity or reliability.

Reasons for retraction may include plagiarism, duplicate publication, multiple submission, fraudulent or fabricated data, serious authorship violations, unethical research practices, or other substantial breaches of publication ethics. Retraction may also be considered when a significant error is identified that invalidates the main findings or conclusions of the article.

When an article is retracted, Istifkar: Media Transformasi Pendidikan will publish a retraction notice that clearly identifies the retracted article and explains the reason for the retraction. The retraction notice will be linked to the original article so that readers are clearly informed of its status.

The original article will remain accessible where appropriate to preserve the scholarly record, but it will be clearly marked as “Retracted” in the electronic version. The article's metadata and publication history will be retained to maintain transparency and ensure the integrity of the academic record.

Article Removal: Legal Limitations

In exceptional circumstances, Istifkar: Media Transformasi Pendidikan may remove an article from its online database when continued availability of the article would create significant legal or public-interest concerns.

Article removal may be considered when an article is clearly defamatory, infringes the legal rights of others, is subject to a court order, or contains information that could pose a serious and immediate risk to public health or safety.

In such circumstances, the article's metadata, including the title and authors, will be retained where legally permissible. The full text will be replaced with a notice explaining that the article has been removed for legal reasons.

Article removal will be applied only in exceptional circumstances and will not be used merely because an article is controversial, receives criticism, or contains conclusions that differ from prevailing academic views.

Article Replacement

In exceptional cases where a published article contains serious errors that may pose a significant risk if its findings are acted upon, the authors may request that the original article be replaced by a corrected version.

The replacement process will follow the journal's retraction procedures. A retraction or replacement notice will be published and linked to the corrected article. The notice will explain the reason for the replacement and provide a clear publication history connecting the original article with the corrected version.

The correction and replacement process will be conducted transparently to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record and ensure that readers can distinguish between the original and corrected versions.
