Author Guidelines

Please prepare your script before sending, using the following guidelines:

Format
Article must be prepared using the official Istifkar article template and submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). Other file formats, including LaTeX and PDF, are not accepted.

Article Length

The article length should be between 4,000–7,000 words, with a maximum of 20 pages including figures and tables.

Article Structure

The body of the article should be set (at least) using an IMRaD structure like the following:

• Abstract (English and Indonesian)
• Keywords
• Introduction
• Methodology
• Results and Discussion
• Conclusion
• Acknowledgements (optional)
• References

Abstract

The article must include abstracts in both English and Indonesian. The abstract should provide a concise overview of the study, including the background, research objectives, methodology, principal findings, and conclusion. Each abstract should be written in a single paragraph and should not exceed 250 words. Below the abstract, authors must provide three (3) to six (6) keywords that accurately represent the main concepts and themes discussed in the article.

Introduction

The introduction should present the research background, review relevant literature, identify research gaps, explain the novelty of the study, and formulate the research objectives or questions.

Authors are encouraged to engage with recent scholarly literature and clearly demonstrate the contribution of the study to the field of educational studies.

Methodology

The methodology section must clearly explain the research design, participants or data sources, data collection procedures, instruments, and data analysis techniques.

The description should provide sufficient detail to enable replication and evaluation of the study's validity and reliability.

Results

This section presents the findings of the study based on the data collected through the selected research methods. The results should be presented systematically, clearly, and objectively in accordance with the research objectives and questions. Findings may be supported by tables, figures, charts, or other visual representations when necessary. Each table must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text, with the title placed above the table. Figures should be presented in high quality and numbered consecutively, with captions placed below the figure. Authors should avoid repeating the same information in both textual and visual forms. The presentation of results should focus on the main findings and provide sufficient evidence to support the conclusions of the study.

Discussion

This section provides a scientific interpretation of the research findings in relation to relevant theories and previous studies. The discussion does not merely restate the results but explains their meaning, significance, and implications within the broader academic context. The findings are critically analyzed to identify patterns, relationships, or trends that emerge from the data. These interpretations are then compared with existing literature to highlight similarities, differences, or contradictions. This process helps to position the study within the existing body of knowledge and to demonstrate its academic contribution. Furthermore, the discussion emphasizes the theoretical, practical, and contextual implications of the findings. It also highlights how the results contribute to the development of knowledge in the field of educational studies, particularly in relation to educational transformation, knowledge transmission, and learning cultures.

Conclusion

This study provides a concise synthesis of the key findings in relation to the research objectives and/or hypotheses. The conclusion does not reiterate the results and discussion but instead highlights the main scientific contributions derived from the analysis. The findings demonstrate how the study addresses the identified research problem and contributes to the advancement of knowledge within the field of educational studies. In addition, the study offers implications for theory and practice by emphasizing the relevance of the findings to broader academic discourse on educational transformation, knowledge transmission, and learning cultures. Where appropriate, the conclusion may also indicate limitations of the study and suggest directions for future research to further develop and refine the topic under investigation.

References

All references cited in the manuscript must be listed in the reference section. Each manuscript must contain a minimum of thirty-five (35) references, primarily derived from nationally accredited and internationally reputable scholarly journals. The majority of references should have been published within the last ten years, except for seminal or foundational works relevant to the topic.

References and in-text citations must follow the American Psychological Association (APA) Style, 7th Edition.

Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNote, or similar applications to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Article Title

The title must be concise, informative, and reflect the substance of the article, with a maximum of 20 words.

Author Information

Author names should be written without academic titles. Each author’s institutional affiliation and email address must be provided. One corresponding author must be clearly identified.

Acknowledgments (opsional)
Authors must declare all external research funding sources in their articles and statements for this effect should appear in the Acknowledgments section. No source of research funding comes from the personal, no need to include it in Acknowledgments.

Abstract structure
The author must write abstracts in English and Bahasa Indonesia with the correct structure, which includes:

  • Background
  • Purpose

Each table is placed after being cited in the text, with the title positioned above the table. Figures are presented clearly and in high resolution to ensure readability, with captions placed below the figures.

References
All references cited in the manuscript must be listed in the reference section. The reference list should include only scholarly sources, such as peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, and other reputable academic publications.
